Blog Graph that makes sense

This totally makes sense for my writing. We start off with a decent idea, we move to an awesome blog post. Then something happens; I write to much about the same thing. Oh noes. It is all over, it sucks, I can’t publish this thing… Then I realize I need to publish something, so I attempt to proof it, make it halfway through and then publish it.

Being Different is Awesome

Every time I see a video like this I want to start writing. I want to write about how I feel, what I see, what I experience and how I live my life. I always want to do this, but I can never get the words out. Someday.

I would like to say that being different is awesome. It doesn’t matter who you are, what you believe, who you love, being different is, in my eyes, more beneficial than a burdan. Embrace it, use it, love it.

Just remember, you are fabulous, no matter what you do.

Help the Salvation Army and Spread the Word

When someone, a business or an organization asks me to write a blog post or make a video I’m not opposed to it if I believe in the subject or think my readers will get some use out of it. That is why I’m here to spread the word about a national charity contest that Food Banks Canada and Air Miles Canada are putting on. I’m not necessarily here to promote their contest though.

They did a cleaver thing by adding some incentive for food banks across Canada to promote the contest. For every action that is done by the group to promote the contest, they can get a $100 Shell Gas Card. An action being a blog post, newsletter, tweet or Facebook statues. I was asked to write this post by the Salvation Army in Yellowknife.

I grow up around the Sally Ann in Yellowknife; at one point the people there were like family. Times have changed, yes, but what they do still stands. Everyday the food bank in the Sally Ann is open for those who need it. They help keep the food bank stalked by driving the Sally Ann van around to get food items. As you can imagine the gas cards would go a long way, especially this time of year.

So do me a favour and follow this link  http://on.fb.me/tIHlSR and vote.

Once you have done that, copy the link into your own Facebook statues, tweet or blog post and share it around, but make sure you tag the Salvation Army Yellowknife’s Facebook Page or @YkSalvationArmy on Twitter so they can track it.

That’s all from me, for now.

Riding Fort St. John Public Transit on Election Day

Brent and I had been planning to spend a Saturday riding the Fort St. John bus for many months and we finally did it. On October 19, 2011, which was election day in Fort St. John, we got to ride it for free. Because of the election happening the City wanted to entice residents to get out and vote, so they offered free bus service.

This was my first time on the Fort St. John bus and I had no clue where I was going to end up. Our goal was to go from the North Peace Cultural Centre (downtown) to the Totem Mall (only 7 blocks away). We ended up going all the way through a part of Fort St. John’s residential areas. We could have gotten off sooner, but we wanted to get right to the mall and also wants to see where the bus would go.

While I probably wont ride the bus much any other time, it was a good eye opener as to where the buses go and how they can be used. For those with no vehicles, I think they suffice. Plus $1.50 for an adult is a whole dollar cheaper than Yellowknife, so that’s a bonus.

Epic fun with a fake MO and a camera

ng_-0001-100-Edit.jpg

I had way to much fun with the Northern Groove Movember Photo Booth and I don’t even have a real Mo. Regardless of that though, I get theatrically when a camera comes out, as you might notice. Thankfully I had friends, Asia and Brent, also there at Marc Josephs taking photos with me. Cheers to them and cheers to Northern Groove for boosting my ego and putting them online. They have over 200 other photos on Flickr, check them out.

Last Day of Movember!

Kyle's Movember

Well peach fuzz does not count as a Mo so I am considering this Movember a failure on my part. That does not mean that you can not donate to someone else. Go to the Movember website, search your location and find someone to donate to. You do have until Decembeard 8th to donate. There are a lot of dudes who worked hard to get those… things… on their faces over the last month to raise awareness of testicular cancer. Do your part!
