Heres Life Coming At Ya

Okay here it comes! Lets go!

So I’m speaking for a bunch of us here in Yellowknife. “We’re Bored” . enough said.

Our conversation consist of “hey whats up” “nothing you” “nothing” “oh ya” That’s it were done. All we do is drive around aimlessly and go to Tim Horton’s. I do believe that we sat at Tim’s for 3 hours last night. Yippy.

We need something to, the question is what is that something. You know. I know teenagers don’t do much but the problem we have is we don’t have a place to go. We need a place were we can just hang around that isn’t Tim Horton’s. In the summer it is a little easier we have the campground or the Sandpits but in the winter we don’t have either. We need a abandon house, it would be kinda nice to have a place to escape to just to hang out and forget about the world. A cabin would be nice, but a cabin that is accessible all year round close to town. I hope to get out to the cabin this winter. Its about a 20 minute sled ride from town and hidden off the trail. Its small and snug. It needs a bit of work, some mouse poison and a new stove should do it. So hopefully once I get those things fixed we can get out there every once and a while and maybe take the edge off the boredom.

Maybe something will arise someday.

But until then we have each other.

Crisis, Lessons, Life

Okay here it is. My life’s latest events in the next couple minutes.

So the other day I had another life crisis, where I was stressing about everything. Not too happy with my job, worrying about the truck. I was a mess. I didn’t get and I don’t get it. Now I look at things and see them as if I am a different person. I feel okay about the these things now. I job is going okay and I’m adjusting to it, which seems to be okay. The truck really is never as bad as I make it out to be. It is probably just the cold that makes the weird sounds. So where does that leave me, who knows! Hopefully I will have the truck and snowmobile paid off soon and I can have a little less stress in my life. At only 18 I should have that much stress but hey that’s life.

We have to take it in strides, one step at a time, one foot in front of the other. And sometimes when life throws you hurtles you just have to work over them.  We have to understand this, life is tough.

I have been thinking a lot about our wants and needs. A quick review would be. “We want a lot but we don’t need a lot” . We are always saying we want this and want that but the question is do we really need it. Probably not! We don’t need a cell phone, we have house phone. We don’t need the Internet, we can find it in a magazine or a book. Then there are the things we think we need that are the best in there class. Like the best computer, but just use it for the Internet. The most expensive truck, but only drive to the office everyday. Most powerful camera when we really don’t take a lot of pictures. All these things which are just material objects that can be replaced and will eventually go out of date. So where does that leave us. I guess I would say this, if you can afford all the things you want, then by all means. We must remember to be happy with what we have and to be thankful to have what we have. You never know if or when it might all disappear.

This is definatly a od post, I kind of went off topic some where and ended up on another one but oh well.

I started to upload all my photos on to Flickr. They should be updating in the sidebar so that all my readers can see or you can go to http://flickr.com/photos/thebushman/

I hope to get most of my photos up there and I also hope I can get out once and awhile to take picture of around Yellowknife, and the surrounding area.

Muppet Show or City Council

Okay so this past Monday a friend and I took a trip to city hall for the council meeting. I forgot to take my note book so I could follow up here with what the dicussions were about and what they were arguing about. But what amazed me was how some of them pout when the arguement wasn’t to their advantage. They were acting like they were 5. I mean heck I’m 18 and I’m pretty sure I could have been more mature in this particular argument than most councilers.

It Is Here!

Today the ice measurements on the City Website were updated and now were on! On the ice that is. Every lake in the city limits except Yellowknife Bay and the rest of GSL is good enough to sled on. We went out for a bit this afternoon and had a blast.
The sled ran great had no issue and I didn’t even get stuck! Because of our major snow fall the last 3 weeks all the trails and lakes have enough snow on them that you don’t have to worry about rocks and such. Powder On.

In the Beginning there was a young man

How do you introduce a new character? You have to look at all the aspects. Who would it be? What is their age? Where are they from? How do they act? You don’t know what there like.

Kellar Molson Williams, can be described as different. Not like any other 18 year old around. With scruffy brown hair that is never straight just hid under a hat that is part of him. Hazel brown eyes to go with the hair and a broad build standing at 5’12″ weighing in at 220lbs. He was as stubborn as an ox but that could have been just a mask for what was hiding what was really underneath.

Kellar was at a tough point in his life. There were so many things that were pulling him, in so many direction all at the same time. They ended up causing him immense frustration and stress and at only 18 years old, Kellar was looking for answers. Four years previous, Kellar had made peace with school and made it home. He got along with most of his class mates but never really bonded with them. Not being a very social-able person when it came to people his own age he never made many friends. Part of this could have been because he never drank and nor did he ever want to. There was never any peer pressure in Kellar’s life because he just wouldn’t put up with it. It was ridiculous he would think what some people would do to fit in and he was just not going to be a part of it. Kellar found refuge among the teachers in the trades section of the school, where for the remaining 3 years he learned. He was challenged and respected. He grew there, learning more than the basic school education. He learned about life, he was give challenges and situation that taught him how to be in the real world. Kellar never had a nack for book smarts but he learned more than books could ever teach him. He learned people, communication and negotiation skills. He learned how to talk to a person what ever the situation, whether it was purchase a special part, understand a situation or getting a better deal on the already good deal. In High School he learned that taking risks pays off if you do your home work. Kellar quickly picked up on buying and selling and would rarely loose money. He found a rush in it all. When he would get that great deal online it was like a full on adrenalin rush, and then to turn around and sell it for a profit would have been unthinkable to some. Or to walk into a store with a goal in his head and barder the price of that item down and down until he knew it was where he wanted it. Since the days he started this skillful trade he would rarely loose any money and if he did it probably was because of a bad deal but more that he thought it was worth it. There was be some greater meaning below the surface. As he gained these skills along with many others he grew up but never truly wanted to leave the high school which had become such a part of him. Finding out the schools history, seeing the old picture and hearing the stories walls had to tell. It had grown on him and he had to face the real world. That all came this past June when he officially graduated and move on.

So there he was out of school in something new……..
