I decided today I needed to find out the shape of The Cabin. So I took off by myself to the hidden cover on the shore of Great Slave Lake about 15km south of Yellowknife. It was peaceful and quiet. I got some stuff done around camp. Like actually digging out the front door, which was covered in snow. I broke a new trail to the cabin from the lake in by foot so when I go out again the snow will be hard packed enough for my snowmobile to drive over it. Much easier than trying to drive through a narrow path in 3ft of power snow.
There definitely was lots of power snow. While looking for the new path in I ended up getting stuck. Stuck good. The sled was completely cover in snow. A took a moment and caught my breath and slowly and comely dug it out and was able to carefully drive it out without getting stuck… again. Lesson learned, always drive faster.
Here is a quick video I shot while out there. Do you have a special get away you go to for peace and quiet?
